Marlins Board Meeting Minutes (2/10/25)

Date:  February 10, 2025  
Attendees: Brooke, Carrie, Whitney, Juliet, Amina, Susan, Steven, Julie  

1. Finances
  - Carrie provided a recap; the team currently has a surplus.
  - Susan’s swim lessons are performing well.
  - New power towers have been purchased.
  - Discussion held about a display case for team merchandise.

2. New Masters Coach
  - Positive feedback about Laura, the new Masters Coach from Roanoke College.

3. Policy on Meets
  - Agreement to hold off on new policy implementation regarding meets until the beginning of the long course season.

4. 8 and Under Championships Recap
  - The event went well, with several older swimmers attending and being very helpful.

5. 9 and Over Championships
  - Responsibilities include ready room, hospitality, meet marshals, and awards.
  - Lynchburg is managing shirts and merchandise.
  - Brooke will coordinate with VT Cadets and seniors to assist with the meet.

6. End of Season Banquet
  - Scheduled for **April 11th at Hotel Roanoke.
  - Menu agreed upon: fried chicken, loaded baked potato, mac and cheese, vegetable medley, broccoli soup, salad, brownies, and banana pudding with soft rolls.

7. Treasurer Election
  - Julie Miller was voted in as the new Treasurer.
  - Carrie will train Julie and assist in the transition.

8. Next Meeting
  - Scheduled for March 17, 2025.
